MUSEUM OPENING TIMES The opening time of 1pm applies to both steam AND non-steam days. The same closing time of 5pm remains. These are the USUAL times, however if an event in the diary gives a different range, then those will take precedent. E.g New Year's Day 2010.
Visitors planning to travel a distance, please CHECK FIRST with a WZ contact before, to establish what is happening on your chosen day. Volunteer availability fluctuates like a tide, so events can alter. The webmaster will endeavour to keep all information fully up to date, but eleventh-hour changes may not be recorded.
Please note these dates and arrangements are subject to alteration, especially the Easter period, which is currently suggesting three steaming-days. We suggest you check back here regularly for updates.

Even without steam, the museum has other engines that will be running since they do not use steam. There is a large Crossley engine, and an operational Lister in its own shed; also a waterwheel and other curiosities. The Marshall boiler is also on view and you will be able to look around it. People are inclined to stay away when the steam is "off", which is a pity because the museum still has a lot to look at.
This information is given as accurately as possible; visitors intending to travel some distance should check to ensure that the event is still on. Please see the Contact page for assistance.
