Volunteering Contacts:

The museum relies on volunteers to survive. There are lots of jobs to suit a range of abilities.

Below is a list of the jobs that we will need volunteer help with over the next 12 months:

- Funding researcher, looking and applying for funding to aid the progression of the larger museum projects. This job can be done in the comfort of your own home.

- Building Maintenance, with a chance to work on a grade 2* listed building with a range of on-going conservation projects.

- New buildings need to be built, a facilities extension project needs co-ordination, a new building to house our collection of un-restored engines needs organising and erecting.

- Current exhibition hall & tea room needs finishing, painting & repairing floors, erecting safety railings etc.

- The outside grounds need maintenance, mowing, strimming, planting etc.

- The narrow gauge railway is being extended, help is needed to lay track, build level crossings etc.

- On steam days we need help looking after the engines and the public. Help is also needed in the tea room and ticket sales areas.

- We also need people who will ultimately become committee members to help in the organisation and running of the museum.

If you can help in any way to keep this independent museum going please contact the museum volunteer co-ordinator by email.
