About The Event

Sunday 11th of November 2018 we will be holding a special Remembrance event. We recently received, from a resident of Bridgwater, a donation of the original steam whistle used at the foundry of W & F Wills Ltd Engineers, Bridgwater (established in 1876). What makes this whistle special, is that it was last blown to mark the end of WWII, and was reported to have been heard as far away as Burrowbridge! Having been restored by our Chief Mechanical Engineer, we will be holding a two minute silence at 11am followed by a blowing of the Wills Whistle to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War and to remember all those that served, lost their lives and continue to serve.

We invite you to come and join us, there will be no entry charge but we would welcome donations for The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. Steam will be supplied by our Robey Portable which will be operational and the cafe will open before and after the event serving hot drinks and cakes from 10.30am.
