ON THE DAY TICKETS - Tickets can be purchased from the entrance on the event day. We are asking for Contactless Payments where possible to reduce handling of cash to protect our volunteers.

The Cafe will be open for both non-steam and steam events. For Non-steam, it is self service with an honesty payment system. Visitors will require change in order to pay, a volunteer may be available to help. We have a Nescafe & Go machine serving a variety of hot drinks, we also have a selection of soft drinks, snacks and crisps available for sale. No homemade cake will be available at Non-steam Events.

Steam Events the cafe will be open serving hot drinks, cold drink, cakes and other snacks. We have reduced the number of indoor tables to keep distance between guests. We have outside tables as well. Please be patient with our volunteers as they will be getting used to keeping everyone as safe as possible. Contactless payment can be used to pay for food and drinks.

Although not mandatory, we do ask if you can wear a mask when waiting to be served at the counter and when using the toilets.

Our toilet facilities which include disabled and baby changing facilities are open to Museum and Cafe visitors. The toilets will be cleaned regularly and are open only during our opening hours.

Hand Sanitiser

Hand sanitiser stations are available at various locations around the Museum. Including:

  • Main Entrance

Social Distancing

Visitors are asked to approach the entrance desk one group at a time, remaining outside the building and keeping social distance between other visitors while waiting. Please be patient with our volunteers who are adjusting to this way of working. We ask you to maintain social distancing between other groups/visitors throughout the Museum. Some of our buildings are quite small so we ask if they are full for you to kindly wait until it is clear enough to enter. Please be patient.

Please note it is encouraged to use face coverings in Museum and other public indoor spaces. Signs will prompt you on entry.

Track & Trace

On entry to the Museum or Cafe you are able to sign in for Track & Trace if you wish. This can be done by scanning the QR code using the NHS App.
